President Armen Sarkissian sent a letter of condolences on the demise of the sculptor Friedrich Soghoyan

I learned with sorrow the news on the demise of the renowned sculptor, People’s Artist of Armenia, Russia, and Ukraine, artist Friedrich Soghoyan. In Friedrich Soghoyan’s works thoughts, feelings, and imagination meet each other and became in the exceptional way a mask, a memorial, a monumental composition. Not only the subjects of his creation are numerous but also their geography is broad. In the museums of Armenia, Russian, Ukraine, Great Britain, US, Germany and many other countries of the world and in private collections the sculptures and images created by Friedrich Soghoyan are present with their unique message.

The source of all that is Armenia and especially the birthplace of Soghoyan, Gyumri, and the artist remained true to it up to the end of his life. Friedrich Soghoyan was also a living link between Armenia, the peoples and countries where he lived and created throughout his long and fruitful life.

I express my condolences to the family and friends of Friedrich Soghoyan as well as to the admirers of his art and share their grief.
