On the occasion of passing away of Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan sent condolences to his Russian counterpart Dmitrii Medvedev.
The message states:
“The people of Armenia learned with great sorrow of the death of the great humanist and writer, a monumental person, Alexandr Solzhenitsyn. A unique amalgam of his life - his personal tragedy, as well as sufferings and creative work - has become a symbol of human willpower, strength, and faith.
The life of individuals, such as Alexandr Solzhenitsyn does not end with their physical existence.
Such a moral, spiritual, and creative source has no end. For a long time the legacy left by A. Sozhenitsyn will be a guiding star for the spiritual and moral education of the generations. I express my condolences to you, family and friends of Alexandr Solzhenitsyn and the people of Russia.”
